Remember the Dead, Scott Smith Rucus Studio Design
This lively fellow brings Scott Smith's Rucus Studio whimsey to the world of glass ornaments. One Halloween / Day of the Dead molded ornament has been colored in three different theme and color motifs. Remember the Dead celebrates Mexico's November 1 observance. According to Artistry of Poland, the Day of the Dead holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where it attains the quality of a National Holiday. Day of the Dead skulls are a way to honor the dead's sweet spirit. The day is often one of raucous festivities rather than mourning. Note the bold colors in Scott's renditions of this smiling skeleton. He has even included a wisp of "papel picado" paper tissue trim that is often used in banners during both private and public celebrations.
