First Report from Atlanta – Inge-glas of Germany

Hi everyone!  This is a very tired reporter from Atlanta.  What a LONG but EXCITING day.  I began with a 9 AM appointment at the Inge-glas showroom.  Everything you’ve heard on the Glass Links mail list about the new line is absolutely true!  There are some fabulous new techniques, introduction of ornaments using the company’s stock of over 10,000 antique German molds, and some yummie additions to the food and wine collection.

Klaus and Birgit will be on hand Friday and Saturday.  The showroom will also host one of the company’s artists.  She’ll the new “Life Touch” painting technique.  Of course, I will be there with camera in hand!  The delicate tonal shadings painters achieve with this new technique are incredible … so very “life-like” … hence the name.

Here's last year's Pinocchio beside the 2009 version with the "Life Touch" techique. What a world of difference!

Now, here’s the yummy goodies!  There are a series of ornaments that appear to have been created with chocolate molds.  The satiny paint finish makes these sweet treats seem to realistic, I was also tempted to nibble!

Inge-glas has also added an entire line of fine wines and cheeses.  The cheeses actually have paper labels.  I swear you could almost smell them!
