RENOWNED CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT DESIGNER CHRISTOPHER RADKO HINTS AT HIS NEXT BUSINESS VENTURE ON WEBSITE "CHRISTOPHERRADKOINPERSON.COM"

NEW YORK CITY – (August 25, 2008)—Christopher Radko became famous by creating and marketing high quality, hand crafted glass Christmas ornaments that have become collection heirlooms throughout the world. He sold his ornament firm in 2005 and took a break from business but now he hints he may be returning with a new venture.

In his first "journal" entry on his personal website, christopherradkoinperson.com, he says that he is thinking of introducing a new line of products.

Christopher was somewhat mysterious in his reference to the new business, saying only the inspiration for his new venture came while he was doing extensive traveling over the past year, including trips to Provence, Assisi and the Umbria areas of Italy as well a his ancestral homeland, Poland. Photos from his travels are posted in the "gallery" section of his site.

"While it's very early in the process, I can tell you that I'm working on some ideas that are rich in history, art and nature," Christopher says. "We all realize the importance of good friends in our lives and now that I've had a chance to visit with dear friends scattered across the world and hear from others via email, I've decided to develop products that can be used to honor friendships with elegance and in a unique and personal style."

A Celtic piper band from York, PA kicked off the convention at an outdoor ice cream social. In addition to the stellar entertainment, Glow members were invited to come dressed as their favorite holiday "character".














And the winners?





St. Nicholas and Krampus who traditionally greet German children on December 6.









The convention offers lots of "shopping" opportunities, of course. But its strength lies in its members' willing to share and educate. There are always amazing displays and museum rooms filled with a breathtaking array of rarities.

I'm in Lancaster, PA attending the annual Golden Glow Convention (http://www.goldenglow.org). There are about 675 Christmas collectors here. The group focuses upon pre-1996 things but does host a pre-event Christmas market that show cases new artists.

Debbee Thibault's new Fairy Lanterns made the booth a popular destination. The lanterns are German glass clip-on or hanging ornaments adapted from authentic antique molds. Each will hold a small battery-operated candle that will created a golden glow through the translucent glass. The large clown face is my favorite.
